Sandbridge Wedding | Karen and Fred

Sandbridge Wedding | Karen & Fred A Sandbridge Wedding. We all get married with the goal of forever but sometimes that doesn’t quite work out. I believe that during that time, life teaches us lessons to shape us into the new person we will be. It seems those times we have failed but in reality is just a way for life to make us into one who is perfect for someone else. We become then one with maturity and appreciation for what is to come, we understand the the struggles and victories that come with saying “I do” and we gain the power of not giving up. This life experience…

Marian + Mike | Chippokes Plantation Engagement

Marian + Mike | Chippokes Plantation Engagement Marian + Mike had their engagement session at Chippokes Plantation. Every time I get to photograph in a new place, I get all excited. It is a challenge to my creativity and one I am willing to take. Although I arrive early to scout the area, I never know if the sun will behave, if bugs will come ruin a lovely movement, or in this case, if birds will make the most loud sound ever and I’ll end up with a pretty awesome picture after all. Marian and Mike are the perfect example how parents know best. Introduced by their moms, their…

    Best of 2016 + 2017 Goals

Best of 2016   2016… So much to be thankful for. So much accomplished and so much not. Although I didn’t meet many of my 2016 goals, I cannot help but sit and reflect on such a year. I tend to criticize my work a lot, so it is an eye opener to go through the year’s sessions and see all the families, couples and parties I was able to be part of. Their happiness, feedback, reviews, thoughtfulness and their referrals have made it all worth it. It is humbling to witness so many new life chapters. I feel I get to witness an incredible honor that not many get to.…

Virginia Aquarium Wedding | Jaime and Nathan | Twinkle and String Lights

An Virginia Aquarium Wedding? Yes! and it was a blast. Coincidentally this year, Jaime and Nathan’s wedding at the Virginia Aquarium is my last one of the season too AND a total blast! Jaime wore her hair like a 50s angel. She looked absolutely stunning! Her dress classy and fitting, was perfect for her. Nathan, on the other hand, couldn’t stop smiling, or shed a tear, at her beauty during the moment of finally saying the big “I do”. I just love these two! They are fun and full of laughter and love. The Aquarium’s Promenade ceremony room  is a lovely place to get married at but Jaime and Nathan…

The Attic at Waterman’s Wedding | Hillary + Matt | An Elegant affair

The Attic At Waterman’s Wedding Hillary and Matt’s The Attic at Watermans Wedding was full of laughter, love and dance. Most of the time I struggle with what to write about a couple, not because of them but because I am a horrible blogger. They tell me a little about themselves and then I word it in my own weird ways. However, when I asked Hillary and Matt to tell me their love story, their answered is one for the books and one I will steal for this blog post! Their love story: A handsome New Englander moved to Texas and somehow found a blonde haired, blue eyed jewel (his…

Sunflowers and Navy Blue Lesner Inn Wedding | Amy & Fran

A Lesner Inn Wedding Navy Blue and Sunflowers Perfection 2016 This Lesner Inn Wedding was perfected by sunflowers, Marine’s Uniforms, and wedding cake smash. I could tell you the many accomplishments of Amy and Fran. Each on their own are strong, driven and energetic. Together, they are loving, fun and contagious people to be around. They met online and by the second date, they were having long conversations with Fran’s mother, made an instant connection with a bartender and impressed “three little old ladies” who were rooting for them to make it. Fran’s gift to turn anything into a fun time and Amy’s ability to grasp the moment, enjoy it, and…

Sunset Beach Hotel | Cape Charles, VA Wedding | Elle & Chris

2016 This wedding season I made sure to pick weddings to document within my free, moment driven style. Weddings were the bride and groom’s goal is to enjoy their day, soak up on the moments and share it all with their family and friends. Weddings to me are a celebration of love, not of things and therefore I say “yes” to those above all. Elle and Chris were a big yes to me. They love the beach, boating, diving, and their family so what better way to celebrate their union than a full-on beach day. After all, Chris proposed on Elle’s birthday on the beach of course. Even when Elle is…

Yellow and Teal Waterview Wedding | Stephanie + Scott | Virginia Beach, Virginia

2016 Our life’s journey is to learn and grow. We can be sure that the steps we take are to shape us for the future. Stephanie and Scott have gone through separate journeys that prepared them for today. At the time they met, maybe without them knowing, life had shaped them to be a perfect fit. Scott’s message in a bottle proposal in Punta Cana (envy alert) was the perfect proposal for these two beach lovers. On the wedding day, Scott did not disappoint. He wrote several letters that were read to Stephanie throughout the getting ready time by her bridesmaids. Little pieces of love and excitement for the moment Stephanie walked…

Lesner Inn Wedding | Sara + Andrew | Sea Shell Bouquets

2016 Sara and Andrew are married! They met online through a popular dating site and had their first date at an Admirals Hockey game. Both pretty quiet people thought their first date was going badly since there was such little talk. They are such a perfect match. Andrew’s eyes say so much about his feeling for Sara. Every time he looks at her is a mixture of love and pure joy. Their quiet moments together are full of smiles and eye contact. It has been a pleasure to witness their love being celebrated. Sara’s choice of using Sea Shell Bouquets was definitely my favorite wedding decor. Enjoy some of my…

Oceanaire Wedding | Christine & Earnest | 25 Years of Love

2016 Love can find you today, 25 years from now or 25 years ago. Every love story is beautiful. Every wedding is special. It doesn’t matter how big or small the wedding is, it is a celebration of love and it brings hope and happiness to those involved, including me. Christine and Earnest’s story started 25 years ago. Both single parents then met at their children’s daycare. 25 years have passed and they have gone through ups and downs as all couples should. If you don’t go through ups and downs, how can you be victorious 25 or 50 years later? Christine & Earnest have loved each other and their…

Virginia Beach Farm Wedding | Regina + Jimbo

Virginia Beach Farm Wedding This Virginia Beach Farm wedding is to me Jimbo’s Story. 2016 Regina gave me a call last month for a wedding this month. She wanted to make sure her father could walk her down the aisle to her best friend and Love. With a super team, she made a 100+ guest surprise wedding with the horse’s birthday as an excuse. All in a month! With a long story of knowing about each other but not really knowing each other, Regina and Jimbo made their lives separately. Two people who were in the same place and at the same time many times over, never met.  In 30…

Lesner Inn Wedding | Liz + Ray | Blue, Green and Seashore

Lesner Inn Wedding Blue, Green and Seashore Love 2016 Liz and Ray’s Lesner Inn Wedding combined the perfect seashore colors. They are so alike in many ways, can laugh equally, are goofy similarly and hilarious all the same. These are my clients. They are funny, kind, loving and romantic but not full of themselves. Liz and Ray absolutely love to party and have a good time with family and friends. They rejoice in love and feel weddings are over the top so they cannot wait to make their day a big celebration instead of an orchestrated and boring affair. They don’t care about the things, they care about their connection,…

Vista Point Center Wedding | Scarlett & Dino | Norfolk, Virginia

2016 I met Scarlett & Dino back in November of 2014. Dino had been on deployment for a long time and Scarlett wanted somebody to document his homecoming. I, of course, agreed. As a former military wife, I knew it would be emotional and a great time. Little I knew that it was going to be in freezing weather and super early in the morning. That aside, I loved spending my morning with Scarlett and Dino as she waited for her Love. You can see their Homecoming HERE. When they asked me to be their wedding photographer I certainly agreed! They are loving, funny people and so easy to get…

2015 In Review + Some of my favorite moments

2015 is gone! Time goes by so fast. When you think you have it all figure it out and review all accomplished and what was not at the end of the year, it feels like time was standing still all this time. Then, in a blink of an eye is 2016. As I reviewed my work this year I confess to smile, get teary eyed and laugh out loud some times. I had a great time in 2015 and I am hopeful that 2016 will bring me the same type of amazing fun couples and families. I have chosen to show you my favorites moments of 2015. All in random order, so every…

My Favorite 2015 Portraits + My so called 2016 Goals

Did you see my 2015 Best Moments? If not, make sure to check them out HERE. As 2016 comes near I must confess to be slightly afraid. 2015 was really, really good. It feels like a string of good luck that may run out at any time. When I started this journey I wasn’t sure where my goals would be long term. I knew what I wanted to do but not quite how to achieve it. I should confess I still don’t know. In 2015 couples sort of found me. I met the right couples, clicked with them and had a blast at their wedding. Plus I ate a lot of cake and…
