Meet Daissy

Moment Reveler | Wedding Photographer | Mom of Crazies | Chocoholic

Do you enjoy reading random facts? Well, this blog post is perfect for you! Meet me, Daissy, and some random facts about my life. I thought it would be fun for you to know a little more about me. I am by no means the most interesting person in the planet but I’d like to think that you may find something we have in common.

  1. Dance, Sunshine, Dance

Dances are such passionate, full of life people. Their movement and talent amaze me to no end. When I was little, I remember choreographing dances in my head; the joy of motion brought me joy for years until I realized the reality of my body …  one which it’s not really great with balance. I don’t think I could copy a turtle’s movement if I tried.

  1. To Boot or not to boot

Going gaga over high heels shoes is not synonymous with my name. Now that you know my shattered dancing dreams are buried under the sudden reality of my lack of balance, you should understand why I never wear heels.  I’ll wear some Chelsea cut boots though! Oh boots! High, Low, who cares! They are boots! Boots and sneakers make my unbalanced feet happy.

  1. Going Curly

A long time ago in a galaxy far away, my mother would take care of my hair and I’d have the most glorious natural curls my ego has ever seen. Then, I became a teenager and messed it all up. Now as I grow into my own identity (was I slow on that or what), I find myself going back to my roots… literally. For the past year I’ve been growing out my curls and cutting off the trail of hair misery behind. My goal is to be 100 percent curls by the end of the year. And yes, it takes a long time, a lot of “why in the world am I doing this?” and a lot of hair product!

  1. A Stress Manager

Most people cannot deal with “The Stress”. Stress in this life can and will kill you if you let it. I’ve learned though that I am happier with a healthy amount of stress. I LOVED my previous job just because of the amount of stress it gave me. I’d take care of around 30 patients by myself all within 4 hours. It was fulfilling and a lot of fun. Going into wedding photography was intimating at first, what if I cannot deal with that kind of stress? I then learned once again, how much I really enjoy it. The running around, paying attention to details, the couple, the family or the guests breaks my body but nourishes my soul. Making sure memories are captured, moments are documented and families are forever remembered is truly a dream.

On the other hand, if there is “nothing to do”, I can be the laziest, do absolutely nothing, sleep all day kind of girl. A day or two is good for my soul but I tend to frown the normal pace season just because of it. If I am not having a wedding during the weekend, editing photos all week, answering emails and phone calls, getting the kids ready to school, helping them with their homework, cooking for energy, driving around meeting clients, delivering products or meeting vendors, etc … I can become the most grumpy gal you’ve met. Unless you feed me chocolate, chocolate fixes it all.

  1. I really can’t

To say that I have any artistic talent would be lying. You see that #meettheartist meme below? Yes, I did that myself and although I love to draw and paint, I have no talent for it. The above was hand drawn, watercolored (is this even a word?), then scanned to Photoshop to clean up and add the words. Because, yes, of course my handwriting stink! My husband of 20 years cannot understand it. Not even I can’t understand it! Most of all, is one of the reasons I go with my lovely tablet and write all my couple’s info because I know I will never decipher what I wrote within the hour! Therefore, I stick with photography as my creative outlet. I hope you agree that I am better at it than drawing.

Wow! It’s done! I shared some weird things about me and I hope you view me with love. What kind of interesting facts should I know about you?

And here, enjoy my so called drawing.
