Akira and Alton  | A Tropical Glam Paradise

Akira and Alton’s Oceanaire Resort Wedding was a tropical lover’s dream and if you love bling, you are in heaven. From the palm leaves to the pineapples, the feeling of summer was in the air. You must take a closer look to the little pineapples Akira got for her bouquet. They were the perfect accent to her wedding.

Akira and Alton met with a bump. Alton bumped into her not once but twice. They exchanged numbers and had a long distance relationship for a while. I love how Akira acknowledges how tough a long distance relationship can be but at the same time, they’ve learned each other well, have learned the communication needed to make their relationship last. You have a Systems Engineer and a Police Officer and I am telling you, this… this is going to be a great ride!

You can see their Engagement Session and learn about their proposal by visiting Akira + Alton: A Virginia Beach Engagement Session

I love when my couples fill out their Follow up questionnaire before I make their blog, that way I can add any and all the advice they may have! Check out Akira’s advice which is spot on about wedding day craziness.

Akira’s Advice:

The shot list is so important! Make sure you get your parents’ input on this because if there are shots they really want, they need to be on there. Make sure everyone knows where to be and it’s clear who is in charge to help get everyone in place (time goes by very quickly). Have a couple poses in mind but focus more on loving each other because the natural shots capture so much more beauty.

Opt for a receiving line so you can see everyone at least once. Do as much of it together as you can and enjoy it! I’m happy to be done with the stress but a little sad that it’s all over after working on it for over a year, so cherish these once-in-a-lifetime moments. Get a planner that best matches your needs. Remember this is about you two, don’t make decisions simply to make others happy (you may regret it).
