FAQ wedding questions

My wedding style is what I like to call an artistic documentary. This means I will capture you laughing, crying, loving, and enjoying your day (I will probably also laugh, cry, and love your day too!).

I want you to remember your wedding as a day of fun and love. 95% of your wedding will be captured as it happens with the other 5% being used for family posing during formals.

The couples I work with are easy-going and lighthearted. They value their wedding photography experience greatly and their main goal is to enjoy their day to the maximum without any photography compromise. They want someone who will be unobtrusive and who will document their day artistically but without any posing pressure. You choose me to be there to capture images that will be loved and valued way after I am gone. I thrive in documenting those who attended to celebrate with you, the details of your hard work, and the love that united you. At the end of the day, my goal is to have presented the story of your day for you both and those afar.

When you look through my work, please note my candid style involves a lot of shadows, dimensions, and contrast. If you are looking for a light and airy, muted colored, heavily darken, or evenly light wedding photography, I may not be the photographer for you. With so much talent in the area, I am sure your search will take you to the right photographer who will document your day within your vision.

And now for some serious business!
I document from Elopements to full-blown celebrity weddings. You know, those with the crazy tower size cakes being cut by a gigantic sword. However, I understand not everybody can afford or really want a big wedding so we will meet and talk wedding details to see what custom collection/a la carte coverage works best for you.
Umm, why not?
All my collections include high-resolution images and a print release. For those looking for an engagement session, you may pick it as an included add on within my collections at no extra charge. This session allows us to become comfortable with each other and it is also a great way to have images to share before the official day.

Wow, you get right down to business!

I've created an easy way for you to include what you want and need within your budget. Just as your wedding will be unique, you will create your unique coverage. My couples fit all their needs (coverage, album, products, and add-ons desired) within their budget during their custom collection building process or choose one of my two set collections. They also can choose a la carte hours if products and add-ons are not what they need. You can expect to invest a minimum of $3000 on Wedding Coverage only and this will increase as you add extra hours and products. For Elopements/Intimate Weddings, a la carte coverage is available and encouraged.

It is my goal to work with my couples depending on the needs of their day and vision.
The amount of images you receive depends on many factors including how many hours of coverage, the flow of the day, and the amount of craziness going on. I don't limit your images per collection. I document and capture the day as it goes and all the goodness goes to you.
All selected images include simple editing. This means white balance and such are reviewed. However, the images will not be manipulated. I will not Photoshop you on a unicorn while your love is battling an army of ponies. But of course, if that is important to you, I'll send it over to the Magic Lab where little gnomes will work it out for an additional fee.
Of course, if you were stressed, I may take that pimple out of your couple's portraits. My style is candid, as is because you and your love are perfect. Your love for each other makes you so.
I shoot in digital format only. I do love black and white and will convert images that look best in black and white. During your album design period, you may select to change between black and white and color for those images included in the album.
A couple of days after your wedding there will be a Sneak Peek posted on social media. Facebook and Instagram are my go-to for sneak peeks.

By the twoweek' versary (did you notice what I did there?), you will then view your proof gallery as I edit them. Since I divide your day into categories called "Details", "Pre-Ceremony", "Ceremony", etc, you will receive one or two categories to view. This continues until we are done with it all. This makes the experience more pleasant as you don't have to browse through 100's and 100's of images at one time.

Think of it as crumbs of goodness instead of an overwhelming giant bagel or, according to my son and editor helper, as a "legit trailer before an even better movie".

Once all your proofs have been reviewed by you and your love, I will deliver final tangible products within 12 weeks.
Let me guess, you are asking this because a wedding blog told you. Well, let me entertain you!

I am a Canon girl. I carry 3 professional dSLR bodies with L series lenses and way too much equipment for my own good.
Well, Yes, and of course.
Absolutely. You receive your personal, password-protected, gallery with all your images edited as proof. They will be divided as chapters of your day for you to share with family and friends. These images will be stored for 1 year. The Gallery is open for viewing online and ordering for 3 months, or until you design your album, whichever comes first.
Delivery of images is done in a flash drive. Elopements or intimate weddings receive a link download.
I am my business and responsible for such. You will work with me throughout your wedding planning, and we will get to know each very well. Depending on the size of the wedding, I do have an assistant(s) who shoots throughout the day and accompanies. She photographs the day up to 6 hours but mostly so she does not get bored and earns her meal.
No. You will get High-Resolution edited images with a Personal Print Release. This means you may print them at your favorite photo lab. The size is big enough for anything a regular person needs. Unless you require a size for a billboard, you will be quite happy with the size.

However, the RAW files are not available for purchase or viewing.
I have been extremely blessed and will do more than one wedding a weekend depending on the timeline.

I never schedule another session or consult on the wedding day, so make sure to book your date with plenty of time.
The short answer is "Yes". Nine years of wedding craziness has taught me well on the schedule that works best for my business, therefore, I don't do wedding coverage longer than 12 hours.

Also, it is important to note that I no longer do Monday - Friday Weddings or sessions.

By choice, my wedding season starts the second week of March and ends the second week of November. December thru early March are purposely reserved for elopements/sessions.
Absolutely! I do not believe your beautiful photographs should stay on your computer. I offer a variety of albums, prints, canvas, and more for you to choose from and add to your Collection (Custom or otherwise). You can view some products HERE.
After you have approved all your proofs, we will start album designing. You will choose your favorite images and I will design it for you. You will then review it and make changes as needed online via my album proofing website. Your album then will be delivered within 12 weeks in conjunction with your flash drive/products.

My website is where I display most of my work. However, following me on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and/or view the blog to see some love stories and my most recent work as it happens.
After our initial Wedding Consultation, you will receive a proposal with any custom collections we spoke about. From there you will choose your collection, sign the agreement, and pay your retainer.

I love meeting couples! You may schedule a free wedding consultation virtually or in-person by using my contact form below. I am much more interesting in person so please set aside a good 2 hours. We'll talk wedding details, get to know each other over your favorite drink, and see if we are a match made in photography heaven.

I look forward to hearing from you,
Daissy
